Victor T Shattock passed away 7 April 1974. The following obituary appeared in the "BMWE Journal".

: Brother Victor T. Shattock, of Piedmont, California died April 7, 1974 at the age of 87.

: Brother Shattock, prior to his retirement from the servcie of the Pacific Federation and the Southern Pacific Transportation Company, Was very active in BMWE work.

: He served as Secretary-Treasurer of Subordinate Lodge 407 in Oakland, California from 1934 to sometime in the very early 1950s. He also served as District Grievance Chairman and was a Joint Protective Board Member of the Pacific Federation, to which office he was elected in the year 1933.

: He also was elected serve as Vice Chairman of the Pacific Federation in the year 1944, and served as Acting General Chairman for approximately six months during the severe illness of then General Chairman Thomas J. Finneran.

: Brother Shattock resigned from the office of District Chairman in 1945, and from the office of Vice Chairman in 1946. He did, however, remain very active in Brotherhood matters following his resignation.

: Brother Shattock was widely known for his ability to build detailed scale minature steam locomotives, and was especially well known for having a half-inch scale, 2.5-inch-gauge, live-steam "Miniature Southern Pacific Railroad" run around his basement for some 30 years. Our Brotherhood Journal carried a large article about him in our December 1947 issue.

: Brother Shattock was the founder, Past President and Life Member of the Golden Gate Live Steamers, Incorporated, an organization which owns and operates miniature steam locomotives in Tilden Regional Park, Berkeley, California.
