Dear friends:

This is the first update of the directory since 6 January 2024. We’re up to 710 locos – 17 more than last time. I’ve updated a similar number of existing files. I always appreciate it when I’m sent new info or corrections – that always improves the quality of the registry.

I’m usually confused by ownership issues within and between the Montreal and Pioneer Valley clubs. It seems that locomotives change hands whenever someone’s birthday comes around! =) Who, for example, now owns Al Hubbard’s Atlantic (see “442.free.Hubbard”)?

At least in this registry, the most frequent wheel arrangements are the 76 Americans and the 75 Hudsons. At appears a lot of people liked New York Central. If you include the foreign prototypes, we have 82 4-4-0’s.

Are people aware that the UK’s “Rugeley Power Station Society of Model Engineers” holds an annual 3 ½”-gauge rally? It will take place on 31 May in 2025, the location is just north of Birmingham.

Dear friends!
In order to decrease file size, I have turned the three files into seven. Pickings were thin this time until Pat Fahey published extensive files on [[Bill Van Brocklin]]’s locomotives on the [[IBLS]] website. So we’re now up to 415 entries. Much more could be done yet on North American-prototype stuff in the UK and the Commonwealth in general.
A few men continue to send along thorough reports on their locos, which is much appreciated!
An old request: I appreciate it if people publishing photos on the Internet, for ex. on the [https://www.chaski.org/homemachinist/ Chaski] forum or Facebook, would include more info, including at least owner, builder and location of photo.
I will be in Florida from mid-October to the end of November, just in case that helps anyone with the sending of info.
Best regards,
Bill Yoder

All the best for 2025,
Bill Yoder
