IBLS Secretaries
May
Dwight Durkee Jr wrote the following in Modeltec, May 1984 issue:
- It is a pleasure to welcome a new magazine, Modeltec, into our Live Steam lives. Surely, the more published information available to the hobbyist, the better informed he can be. I'm glad to support this new endeavor in any way possible. For those of us who work to help keep the Brotherhood going, another voice in the form of a new magazine is going to be a big help. Looks like a good deal all around.
- Many new clubs have formed in recent years. It is hard to keep up with them! As a result, there are some who feel that the Brotherhood is no longer necessary. It has fulfilled its purpose and we ought to forget the whole thing. Well, from where I see things, this is simply not so. True, in urban areas clubs keep Live Steamers in contact with one another and the fellowship they afford just cannot be found anywhere else. But there is still the lone hand, often remotely located, who needs a contact with a fellow hobbyist. And here is where the Brotherhood still fills the bill. And even in the cities, there is often the man who just does not know of a club near by and the information is available to him from a Regional Brotherhood Secretary. So the Brotherhood is alive and well, and we hope to be able to serve Live Steamers for many years to come.
