Lester Turtnet was a railroad man. He spent ten years building his own live steam locomotive. It’s a 2.25 inch to the foot replica of the Atlantic Gulf and Southeastern 5210. In 1977, it was the only train of its size in the nation. He’s the engineer and conductor on a ½ mile track layout in his yard in Bainbridge, Ga. ***MYSTERY STORY – this is another story where I can’t find Lester Turtnet or what happened to his train. I contacted the Live Steamers Clubs in Georgia and Florida but I haven’t had any luck. I especially want to thank Peter Craymer of the North Georgia Live Steamers.
